Hands off white lime!
White lime also known as slaked lime or calcium hydroxide has a pH-value of 12,4!
In combination with dampness like water, sweat, tear fluid or in wounds the lime reacts corrosively.
The white lime seals the ground and the water can’t drain. The lines freeze up in winter so the turf can’t grow any more.
The DFB ( German Football Association ) and the national associations have banned white lime from German pitches. Regardless of that about 20% of the German football clubs are still using this product for marking.
